Is there a name for this phenomenon?

ZURICH (AP) — Prosecutors said Thursday that a Brazilian woman has admitted faking an attack by Swiss skinheads and lying about miscarrying twins.

Pictures of her scarred body appeared in newspapers and Brazil’s Foreign Ministry had raised the possibility that she was the victim of a xenophobic attack. But after a series of tests, police said that Oliveira was not three months pregnant as she claimed, and Zurich University forensic medicine chief Walter Baer called it a “textbook case” of self-mutilation.[…]

Last year, an 18-year-old woman in Germany was convicted of faking a neo-Nazi attack by carving a swastika into her skin. In October, a volunteer for John McCain’s presidential campaign agreed to enter a probation program for falsely reporting that a Barack Obama supporter robbed and assaulted her and scratched a “B” on her cheek.

Does it only happen to women? Is it the same kind of thing as stigmata, and if so, is it possible for swastika (or an abbreviation like  “SVP”) to appear naturally?

Nah, self-destructing behavior is something like taking hard drugs or drinking a fifth every night. This is something else; seems that they feel victimized and must express it somehow. Or something.

I’d say it’s very close to self destruction

“Self-mutilation” seems too general; I know there are people who like to cut their skin for no reason, but in these cases there seem to be some political or ideological motivations as well.

A Tamil guy (a British, actually, ethnic Tamil) torched himself here in protest a couple of weeks ago. Is this similar?

Standard tweek-skank procedure: get ’em some meth (or crack in some locales), maybe some booze, phuck ’em for a few hours, and then they break out a razor, or want a tat. San Berdooo Praxis.

Nyet. Jus’ a bit of realism, instead of the usual frat-boy hijinx of abb1. The slice-fetish has been around a while, at least west coast .

AS far as logic goes, an argument’s only as good as its premises; formality’s for those who can afford it.

Assuming this west coast thing is not a mere fantasy, wouldn’t it be something quite different from carving a swastika and blaming skinheads or the letter B and blaming the democratic party thugs, though?

My parents dog is a cutter. They got a cat, who made the dog jealous and so the dog bit his own legs to the point that he has a big wound. All to get attention. I don’t wanna hate but I call him Princess for a reason.
