The difficulty lies not in the new ideas, but in escaping from the old ones…

“We can’t expect relief from the tired old theories that, in eight short years, doubled the national debt, threw our economy into a tailspin, and led us into this mess in the first place,” he [Obama] said. “We can’t rely on a losing formula that offers only tax cuts as the answer to all our problems while ignoring our fundamental economic challenges.”

Let me get this straight:  we can’t rely on a losing formula that offers only tax cuts as the answer? Of course. Tax cuts plus more government spending is the answer!

Don’t get me wrong, I hate Neoclassical economics just as much as the next guy; but does it mean that its Keynesian counterpart must be  accepted as the gospel?

Come on, people, snap out of it. Surely, there must be better ways. Raise taxes on multi-million dollar incomes; dramatically, to 95% – and enforce it for a change. Intrduce a wealth tax, high estate tax. Get rid of the friggin’ Pentagon. Then start building roads and painting schools.

This is one big huge gigantic sign that Obama is just another POS who is going take advantage of crisis for political winz. More like ignoring all fundamental reality.

And abb1, you should pick out some nice uniforms for your government. Complete with shiny leather boots and such. Just make sure it both looks smart when you’re goose stepping, and has a good functional fit for when you’re guarding your prison camps.

I said it before the crisis I,ll say it now, I’ll say it after the crisis, I’ll say it during the next crisis. Follow the Constitution. Follow the law. Anything else is political.

Wait, you really want to get rid of the Pentagon? A pentagon fort is supposed to be a defensive structure. You ^H^H^H
Ok, you can have defensive forces without a deathstar in Virginia. BUt that
means no cool uniforms, I was gonna have shoulder pads with spikes darn.

No uniforms, that’s exactly the point. And no need for any prison camps; there aren’t enough of those who make in a month more than you in your whole life to fill out a single camp.

Well, maybe one camp. But that’s a much safer option for them than the alternative.
